Unit NC-073 Color Guard
The Color Guard is a group of cadets that presents the flags at high school and community events. The Air Force JROTC Unit NC-073 Color Guard team is the team that presents and posts the United States and North Carolina flags at South, JROTC, and community events. This team is known for its exceptional performance in drills, performances, and uniform wear, and cleanliness. The solid white shoulder cord signifies the team. The team's main focus is on maintaining the proper handling and presentation of the flags, as well as performing marching and drill movements in coordination with the rest of the unit. Many JROTC units have a long and proud history of color guard teams, and the tradition continues to be an important part of the program today.

Unit NC-073 Marksmanship Team
The AFJROTC Unit NC-073 Marksmanship Team is a team where cadets learn proper positioning and techniques to increase accuracy when shooting in competition. Cadets also study every rule of competition shooting and sign a contract before ever touching a rifle. To qualify for the team you must score a 100% on the Marksmanship Written Test. The team often participate in shooting competitions against other schools and have the opportunity to attend regional and national events. In addition to promoting safety and responsible gun ownership, participation in marksmanship teams can also help students develop discipline, focus, and teamwork skills.

Unit NC-073 Air Commando Team
The AFJROTC Unit NC-073 Air Commando Team is a team that focuses on the physical fitness of cadets who join. Air Commando consists of the cadets with the highest physical abilities out of the whole core. Cadets who enter will have the chance of improving their strength, running, endurance, etc throughout this special team. This team has practices weekly in order to prepare for competitions such as the "Iron Man", in which only the best out of Air Commando are chosen to compete in these competitions.

Unarmed Drill Team
The AFJROTC Unit NC-073 Unarmed Drill Team is a team consisting of unarmed regulation drill. The members of this special team study, practice, and conduct regulation drill sequences at competitions locally, regionally, and one day nationally. This team is consists of the best marchers and performers when it comes to drill, ranging from members in the AS-100s to AS-400s.
